Yeah, in my experience, the server the open CD's site is on doesn't handle it's load very well. I'm not bashing the project at all, it's great, but the site seems unreliable.

Good time for a torrent?

I think the ubuntu live cd is a derivative of OpenCD's DiscTree php program there bud. They've been using that since version 2.0

Slow to update...

The main problem with the Open CD is that it's slow to update. I did a little mini seminar in my Computer Science class on Open Source Software, and wanted to hand out some copies of the CD. However, I saw that it had an outdated Firefox and such things and decided against it (an outdated, vulnerable browser is not a nice thing to give to people).

Updating DiscTree manually is a pain in the neck, and I didn't have time.
