Microsoft Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer delivered keynote addresses from the Microsoft Redmond Conference Center that were broadcast via satellite to customer events being held simultaneously throughout the USA and at major Microsoft subsidiaries around the world. You can find links to the webcasts here.

I don't have time right now to watch the webcast, but I was just wondering,

Did or didn't Ballmer make a fool out of himself again? Thanks

i wouldnt expect a porn site to be that bad. the word microsoft was link to "gr8software" or some such nonsense... in fact it looked like all the links
were like spammy online crap.

and who knows what strange (windows only?) format that thingy was in...

would be ironic if they gave any lip to "open standards"
(id love to see them use those words with a strait face)

I'd rather watch a blinking cursor or stare at a rock than hear or see anything from Gates and/or Ballmer.

I watched a lot of this presentation, some of the gab I had to skip over, it was so exhaustive about their products, and showcase different things coming out over the next period of time for non-Windows software that they are working on, and even a bit of where the company wants to go with all their software over the next 3 years. Gates talked for awhile, then had a couple people show different software products and showed how using different MS software in the future is all going to be designed to work together, like sharepoint working within Outlook for getting work done and how to share it so anyone can access the info outside, with real time info updates so like if someone changes a shipment order there is an entire system wide update so everyone will see the changes next time they look, or if looking, will update itself on their computer without the person clicking anything to refesh it.

Anyways, it was 3hrs 18min long, minutes a 15 minute break in there, but I couldn't watch all, too much to sit through.

Ballmer talked for half an hour, he's got better public speaking skills then Bill, and had some Q&A time. 1 question asked what we are to make of Linux, that it's been in the news a lot, and you could see Steve went blank for like a second and a half or 2. He gave his routine speech of competition is good for Microsoft, it drives Microsoft to design better products, but yes maybe there are some days you would wish a competitor would go away. He give a bit of rift raft of Linux and MS products, saying Microsoft tries to build products so you shouldn't have to think about Linux if you don't want to. He mentioned the 3 words, that I know even mentioning the 3 letter abbriviation is enough to cause a bloodfest war. I'll just say it's something about the price for ownership in referance to operating system software, and let you figure out what I'm refering to. But in the end, Steve said he wants people to think of Linux as basically the driving force for Micosoft to build such great products. So that's esentially what it was about, I'm deliberately trying to keep my views and opinions out of this, and just letting you know the bulk of this 3 hour prsentation..
