I've been using only the beta2 of the OpenOffice suite for a few weeks now and I haven't still decided whether it will replace my MS Office Suite or not. It's all about these small things that makes you realize that the later will not be instantly forgotten (as for example MSIE): 99% compatible with Word (some embedded pics do not look the way you left them when they used to be in a *.doc), graph-ing in Calc isn't as easy as within Excel, quite longer loading times. I hope all these things will find their way toewards the final release. As for now, I found it better to have them both.
I can also add that there are a lot of osnews readers from Slovenia. You should check google earth more often
Slovenia is a very nice and warm country. Historicaly being invaded by Italians, Austrians and bordering the balkan region has a very interesting culture and habits.
OOo is a great attempt...but MS is famous and popular...despite all their bad programming and bugs and so on...because they just work better I think...at least in terms of Office suites hehe. I dont think OOo is a worthy competitor...its a worthy clone...that just happens to be free and frankly I cant wait to get my copy of the upcoming Office 12.

Ok, so my comment about the next OOoCon being held in a devastated New Orleans (much more like Mars right now than Slovenia) it's not good but that one saying Slovenia and mars are the same it's funny, isn't it?
I suppose those who rated my comment with a -2 felt that my comment was out of place and inapropiate. Same as that one about Slovenia.
Well done!
BTW: I am Spanish, not Slovenian.
I am from Slovenia. ( http://www.slovenia-tourism.si ), from Maribor ( http://www.maribor-tourism.si ). And Slovenia is nice and small. In 3 hours you can see Alps and Mediteranian See.
