RE[3]: Quanza and Honica
"I celebrate Quanza and Honica you insensitive clod."
You're a liar. You misspelled BOTH. It is possible to celebrate both but I think it impossible that you wouldn't know how to spell either or that you would make such a complaint about someone wishing others a merry Christmas. Your attempt to cast a bad light on those who celebrate those holidays reveals your true nature. Thus we see the reality of the phony "war on Christmas." It's really an anti-tolerance campaign by right wing extremists.
Last Christmas
I gave you my heart
But the very next day, you gave it away
This year
To save me from tears
I'll give it to someone special
Once bitten and twice shy
I keep my distance
But you still catch my eye
Tell me baby
Do you recognize me?
Well
It's been a year
It doesn't surprise me
(whispered) Merry Christmas,
I wrapped it up and sent it
With a note saying "I love you"
and meant it
Now I know what a fool I've been
But if you kissed me now
I know you'd fool me again
[Chorus x2]
A crowded room
Friends with tired eyes
I'm hiding from you
And your soul of ice
Oh my I thought you were
Someone to rely on
Me?
I guess I was a shoulder to cry on
A friend to discover with a fire in her heart
A girl under cover but you tore me apart
You tore me apart, ooo-ooo
Now I've found a real love you'll never fool me again
[Chorus x2]
A friend to discover with a fire in her heart
A girl under cover but you tore me apart
[Spoken] Maybe next year,
I'll give it to someone
I'll give it to someone special
:D
Merry F*cking Christmas ...
What happened to christmas ?!?!
Have we all forgotten what christmas it really about?
We eat like we haven't eaten for weeks,
and in other parst of the world there is real hunger,
We buy present for millions of dollars,
and in other parst of the world, there are people without any money ...
Have we forgotten what christmas it supposed to be about?
Yeah.... hooray for us ... NOT !
That would be even worse ...
To exploit them, to work for too little money,
so you can have your toys ...
The world would be a better place if there was no
money at all ... but unfortunately there is,
and only, because of greedy people who want to
be richter than others ... this world is sick:
infected with greedy people, people who don't care
about anything but themselves ...
shup up youself, and think about it,
when you are eating your christmas dinner ...
think about the people who are alone,
who have noone who cares about them ...
that is the people you should be caring
about this days ... and don't tell me to
shut up, just because you don't agree with me,
you just want to go with everyone, who is just
doing what the companies want you to do...
spend your money on expensive stuff, and fill
their pockets ... please ... this is not what
christmas is supposed to be about ...
Hmmm... give presents to loved ones, check. That IS what Christmas is about. Sorry I can't make everything I do or say have an impact on the world's problems. But once or twice I year I can gather with my close friends and familiy and celebrate, without guilt for that the fact that the world sucks. And you should to.
there is nothing wrong with the present,
just to show you care about your friends,
but that is not the point ... the point is,
it is supposed to be just a present, and not
a too much ... not all expensive stuff,
just a simple present to show that you care...
and why do you need a 5 plate dinner ?
Just to have dinner with family and friends should
be enough...
Given the forum, I think it only appropriate that Linus tell us what Christmas is all about:

I admire your courage in posting that. I bet you knew you were going to take a lot of flak. Don't let it get to you. You will always have to deal with intolerant people throughout your life. Thanks for the greeting and a very Merry Christmas to you and the staff as well.
Bill
For those of you wishing to express your christmas spirit to those less fortunate, instead of some fat exec:

Don't let the name fool you, its a secular organization.
Too bad see people fight even in this topic in this day who are supposed to be about love, forgiveness and union O.o
Tks for all osnews staff for this site and for the message.. merry christmas for all editors, staff, users... and the world!
This day is not about presents at all, sure! commerce are happy, but you only buy presents to people who you like. The best thing is to wake up in the morning and see all your family, including the past generations and celebrate. Enjoy the day, forget your problems... think about a perfect world, and then will turn on reality. The first step for a better world is care about other people for good. Regardless of religion, or lack of, this day is to be celebrated by their message, who are simple: love.
Happy holiday to everyone =]
"no matter one's nationality, religion, favourite operating system, favourite desktop environment" ???
HHmmmm... Nationality, religion, sex, colour... that's not really important, but Operating System...
OPERATING SYSTEM is bloody immportant, guy. It is of paramount importance... Some people is going to hell directly for using a determinate one ;-) (we all know which one)!!!
Merry christmas to all, Feliz Navidad a todos, Jojeux Noel ą tous, etc. !!!!

To those I agree with, and those I don't. To the smart and the smartass, to the insightfuls and the trolls, to zealots, fanboys and shills. Tonight it's not worth to fight, let's celebrate with friends and/or family instead.
Resolution for next year: spend less time arguing on the Internet! ;-)
Well, it ought to be gLędelig jul, but anyway...

Happy holiday and so on in all languages of the world (including dutch)
And a happy New Year, indeed. 2005's been an interesting year; I'm sorry to see it go. Let's see what 2006 brings!
Two and a half hours to go where I am. I guess I better clear off to bed so I can wake up at 5 AM or whenever I'm supposed to wake up tomorrow...
(Oh, and by the way, I hate "Last Christmas"... and I haven't even heard it more than four times in the last two weeks. Either we need more GOOD Christmas music, or simply play less of it. I vote less, since even "I'll Be Home For Christmas" gets old fast.)

Merry Christmas to all those who celebrate christmas and Happy Holidays to whom ever does not. Personally I reall think happy holidays is just wrong when you know who you saying it to celebrates. For example I gave my neighbor a gift and I clearly said Merry Christmas, we have seen each in other in a Catholic church but he said Happy Holidays who how it bugs me.
Merry Christmas and Merry Chistmuhka and Merry Hollydays.
I hope you all got GNU/Linux computers , GNU/Linux phones , GNU/Linux server and GNU/Linux Jobs for those that dont have one ( BSD , UNIX , Solaris that got replaced by GNU/Linux ) ;-)
I you did not receive any GNU/Linux gift this year , pick one up at www.distrowatch.com or many and download them for free and legally.
Ho HO HO !
