Mac OS X It's early, but developers say they are laying the groundwork for the Mac and Windows to be interchangeable in the workplace if needed. Microsoft's Virtual PC will go Intel, and Office for the Mac will go XML.

if there are cad, electronic, mechanic.... maybe mactel have a chance....

often in enterprise, computer is dell... is cheaper...

apple computer is often too expensive

The Success of Mactel depends on its popularity as a gaming platform. There are very few Mac only business applications that people can't obtain on another platform.

I would say Macs have been pretty successful up to this point, and it's still not a strong gaming platform.

Apple has the highest growth rate of any other computer company out there. They're making billions every year. iPod sales show no signs of slowing down.

Babe, I don't know what planet you are on - but the gamers I KNOW, don't care about bits and bytes, they want a machine which can play their latest game - they don't care about Windows or other crap, they just want to through their latest game into the machine and for it to "just work"(tm)

Yes, and PC users ARE deciding to move over - I see more and more customers each day opting for the laptop for their general purpose stuff, and a games console for the kids so they can play their game.

I know that for many home/student computer users, the lack of games for the Mac platform is a big reason for not buying a Mac. The Intel move should do a lot for breaking down that wall, even if a reboot to windows is required to play games. For most people, sitting down to play a game is a committment of some serious time, and a reboot isn't much to ask. Of course, some work on VirtualPC could make that unnecessary.

LOL. And then there are us older WoW addicts. So far there seems to be every indication that there will be a native version* at some point in time, and life will continue to be great.

Except for the fact that those damned ninja looters will still be there, and that idiot who got me 3 DKs in under a minute still gets invited into groups (I hate you Bahemuth :-P)
