I actually just read this article a few nights ago in the print version of MSDNMag and was very impressed at what MS has coming down the pipe as far as unifying messaging in .Net (which up to this point has been a complete mess trying to get all the different payloads and transports to cooperate with each other). This will vastly simplify writing network oriented code.
At first glance it looks tedious to do, but compared to the old way of doing things like this, it's a godsend, and also will lend itself to better language interoperability as it's based on standards, and of course you can roll your own sinks if the provided ones don't suit your needs.
