Of the various KDE live-install CD distros I've tried, PCLinxOS is just very polished, bleeding edge and is stable thru many updates.
I dissagree with the authors opinion that Ubuntu installs more apps, since the PCLOS menu has quite a few more, though many are multiple app choices.
Alas the growing size of updated packages has meant that OpenOffice has had to be traded off for KOffice to keep the .92 release compressable to <700MB.
The mklivecd remastering script is allways fun, the KDE desktop defaults are sane and attractive, the forum is friendly and Texstar is very responsive to package requests.
The developer team is very small so they have focussed on English lang and the KDE platform. Current GNOME, XFE, IceWm & Fluxbox & their apps, are in the repos and forum members help & discuss those occasionally.
There are quite a few PCLOS iso remasters around including a GNOME based one if you prefer.
Yep I'm a PCLOS fan
Certainly it isn't... especially when coming to the heart of the system (kernels and initscripts)- there the policy is very conservative.
Generally I like PCLOS, but I always roll for it a kernel of my own- the stock ones are way too clobbered ( should I say Mandriva-style?).
