I'd recommend it over any other IM Client.
I used Trillian Pro on Windows for a looooong time and also GAIM (on Windows when Trillian was having problems with some protocols).
When I 1st got a Mac I tried Adium and Fire. I sticked with Adium, it's fantastic.
I miss *some* features from Trillian, like the ability to set up different States per protocol and switch them back and forth with a keyboard shortcut... that's priceless, when the phone rangs you have a state "on the phone" you just change your state instantly, so the guy/s you were talking to don't keep asking "Hello? Hello? Hello?".
;)
Thanks to Adium I finally could ditch the old crappy ICQ. iChat did not work for me because of cyrillic letters (not supporting them). Now with Adium I can chat with ICQ and MSN users. What I miss is video/audio integration and possibility of screen-sharing. Another issue is that I cannot see the user profile of someone who sends me an invitation. So I cannot decide if this is spam or a real user.
So thanks a lot to the developers of this great program, which I use quite every day.
Adium is brilliant, hands down the best out there, I just wish it would be ported to Windows as well, I use Miranda at home, and it's not bad, but Adium handles plugins, themes much much better.
Trillian is ok, but it started to get a little irritating for me with how it looks or does things.
Keep up the great work guys.
