BeOS & Derivatives While some BeOS users have enjoyed USB Mass Storage support on compatible (read: Dano USB stack-equipped) systems since the release of the USB Storage Module back in 2004, it today became possible to use this driver with an entirely legal USB stack on BeOS R5. In addition, USB 2.0 now works on R5, whereas Be's stacks have only ever supported USB 1.1. Michael Lotz's commit allows the driver to operate on R5, and on the SVN mailing list, he has stated that in testing, he has written to and read data from his Playstation Portable at USB2 speeds using this combination.

news. When it is ready I will give it a spin and buy it. Hopefully yellowtab will give all its modifications back to Haiku and start shipping a BeOS distro like Novell.

Buy what? Haiku intends to be a freely-distributed OS.

YellowTab is gone, so they won't be making any distro out of Haiku - but maybe Magnussoft will...

In any case, if you do want to support Haiku OS with money, you could always donate.

Maybe this will stop all those naysayers who repeat "whats the point to recreate system which was already outdated when haiku started" ;) .
Haiku not only will be BeOS, but it will also be a better BeOS ;) .

Thanks!

While my camera does not have USB 2.0, I have always notice that it seems faster to download pictures on Windows machines.

I wonder if this driver will speed up my present BeOS. Must try it sometime soon.
