Come and see all the bug fixing, all the new translations and all the updated documentations brought to you by the wonderful team of GNOME contributors! While development continues on the GNOME 2.17/2.18 road, we didn't forget about making a new release that is rock solid. And simply better than the previous one."

Does this include a fix for the infamous Nautilus 100% CPU usage bug?

I think what I like about Gnome is how nice the applications are now. The Desktop from a UI perspective looks great. I love the way it blends nicely with XFCE4 to make a hybrid desktop you can customize to your heart's content. The new snazzy message notify system is cool. I noticed rythmbox is using it now to display song titles when they change. I almost feel like I am on a mac yet but not quite since it didn't cost me a cent!

It already did that in 2.14.

Almost the same happened to me. I helped a friend coming from windows to install ubuntu edgy, he liked gnome more than kde, so after some hours spent on the 2.16 gnome I found it quite nice.

Wish I could get the C++ bindings to compile in Gentoo. Being a real pain.
