The 3GSM convention was kicked off in Barcelona this year with some pretty cool products: the HP iPAQ 510 Voice Messenger (review), Toshiba's G900 and E01 with WinMob 6, Nokia's E61i and E65, Nokia's N77 with DVB-H mobile TV, Nokia's 6110 quad-band HSDPA GPS navigator, Motorola's MotoRIZR Z8 (video) that uses a non-touchscreen version of UIQ 3.0 and the L9 among others, the Neonode N2, the RIM BlackBerry 8800 (with possibly WiFi in it, unannounced feature), Samsung's 10 new cellphones including the touchscreen ones (specs) and a Symbian-based one, a Windows Mobile 6 video and lastly, a review of the highest-end Nokia Pro handset, the E90.

I hope someone will make a phone nowdays that does enable me to call but without beeing traceable. Guess thats a problem with gsm and G tech not actually with the phones. But some kind of firewall or something else to block outbound traffic would be nice, so noone can trace my whereabouts just because i have my phone turned on.

You can buy a Nokia N80-Internet_Edition and only use VoIP. I use my E61 as a VoIP-only phone too.
Of course, this would mean that most of the time you would be out of service if you don't live in the Silicon Valley where wherever you go there are wifi networks available to you.

is it me or is motorola getting ridiculous with the names? rizr? wtf is that! anyway, any news on a2dp support in the e61i? the pop-port 3.5mm converter i got for my e61 is horrible. when i put the phone in my pocket it acts like the dongle was disconnected and reconnected and does that voice activation thingy, which stops whatever is playing so i need to take the phone out of my pocket again push play and hope it doesn't happen the next time i put it back in. very frustrating, especially because it used to work great when i first got it. i've been thinking about getting a new one.

I can't see how people can be excited about the iPhone when we have so much choice here and now. There are so many phones with all sort of 'feature sets'. Phones with all sort of connectivity, phones with all sort of multimedia features (it's kinda sad how it's almost easier to get ogg support on Symbian than in iTunes).
I really don't see what the iphone has over the latest s60 phones. Maybe the name, I guess iphone sounds better N73 to your average consumer.
