Today, a number of screen shots of RIM's BlackBerry OS running on a Windows Mobile HTC Fuze hit the Web. The "BlackBerry virtualization" is possible thanks to the new BlackBerry Application Suite, which is a piece of software for non-RIM devices that lets users take advantage of various RIM security features, as well as the company's "push" delivery tech. The BlackBerry Application Suite isn't currently available, but it should be soon, according to reports.

So ... is this a VM running on Windows Mobile, where the Blackberry OS is running, with Blackberry apps running on top? Or is this just a suite of Blackberry apps running on Windows Mobile? TFA is very light on details, and says that it's both, and yet neither, at the same time.

Judging by the screen shot... I'd assume it's the REAL Blackberry OS simply running in a Java Virtual Machine. I guess one could run each individual program inside its own java VM, but I doubt it.
However, I could be completely wrong..

It is in fact the entire BlackBerry OS running in a VM. It loads up like a regular BlackBerry and everything.
