Apple This month marks the 25th anniversary of the Macintosh--and a good time to take a walk down memory lane. From the first Apple to the MacBook Air, Macs have been regarded as technologically innovative, beautiful in product design and-over time-become just plain cool. But which were the coolest?

Don't forget the Newton.

+1 on the cube. I had a friend who loved that thing just for its looks. I'm wondering if the author thought the miniMac was a similar design, only better.

It is odd they didn't include the Cube. The Mac Mini seems to be simply a continuation of the Cube design.

The Mac II is another that I find uninspiring. Perhaps it's important for being the first of the "pizza boxes"?

So if I were making the list it would be an even dozen: I would add the Cube, drop the Mac II, and add the current iMac.

I'm surprised the Duo Dock isn't on that list anywhere. That was my first laptop, absolutely loved it.
