Thanks for this guys, its really good ...
but, a note on the file encoding. If its going to be in mono, you probably wouldn't have lost any sound quality by encoding at 64kbps rather than the 118kbps you actually used.
A 25MB download would have been better for your bandwidth.
I exported using 96Kbs (variable). I thought this would be low-enough given mp3 quality, and the music bits too (I'm new to podcasting stuff). As I was in a massive rush to get the show out, I didn't have time to play with encoding settings, but if you think 64 kbps will suffice, I'll give it a try on Monday.
Very nice job on this episode guys.
Just one thing... Thom, you might want to move the Mic a bit further away from your mouth. It sounded like it was resting just a bit too close to your face, and you ended up breathing pretty hard into it. It wasn't that bad, but it was noticeable.
And the benefit of all that bandwidth just to see our flappy gab-boxes would be?? A video requires your attention, when there's nothing we're doing that visually requires any attention. With an MP3 you can listen to it whilst doing any number of different things. Our podcast is meant to be consumed more like radio, then it is TV.
If you really need pictures, turn on the iTunes visualiser
