PDAs, Cellphones, Wireless The Palm Pre and its webOS aren't even out yet, and there's already news of another Palm device that will ship in the second half of the year, also running the webOS. First it was just a rumour, but now we have pictures and hardware specifications - and now it's still just a rumour, but with pretty pictures and a spec list. Sadly, there's still no word on exactly when the Pre will arrive, but some evidence points towards June 7 - the day before Apple's WWDC starts.

Moving on to the Pre, TechCrunch believes it might arrive the day before Apple's WWDC starts (June 7)

I don't think this would be a very sensible move, time line...

June 7 - Palm releases Pre - all eyes on Palm
June 8 - WWDC - OS3 and (possibly) new models - all eyes on Apple

They get the limelight for one day. Marketing fail...

wait what?!

you mean they weren't just planning on only making 1 phone?! Wow, this truly changes the game, up until now I thought each company only made 1 phone ever...

rumors of a company making *gasp* a second phone have just blown my mind....

Well, Apple deciding to actually make a second phone for the people for whom the iPhone isn't a perfect fit would be big news. People may just have forgotten that not all companies are like Apple.

Oh yea, iPod comes in just *one* flavour!

The deal is that Palm Pre is as versatile as an iPhone; as said if iPhone came out this would be a "larger than life" news...

Competition fierce

Best of luck to Palm with the Prē.
The smartphone market already has a lot of competition, but hopefully they can carve out a niche.
