Google "Google is one of the biggest companies supporting OpenSource movement, they released more than 500 open source projects (most of them are samples showing how to use their API). In this article I will try to write about most interesting and free releases from Google, some of them might be abandoned." Via NewsYCombinator.

I didn't know this technologies and I hope that they will be integrated in every open source project. I wished they created or adopted OpenCFLite to have a common foundation for every OS with the purpose of enhancing their OSS offerings.

Very true.

Sun's Open Office alone adds up to more code contributed than most companies.

Then add in Open Solaris and Java.

Sun also contributes to many projects like Mozilla and GNOME.

Their single biggest contribution to FOSS is in $$$ given out during their Summer of Code. Do not underestimate the amount of code generated as a result.

not to mention spearheading the use of the most important open source technologies of the decade. no big deal!

right. if it wasn't for google these geniuses would be reading the internet through ActiveX goggles. you think mozilla beat IE? think again.

google's contribution to open source is low. stunning. ridiculous. I hope there are only few ignorant enough to believe that.
