The title sounds like webOS is being renamed...which it is not.

That's too bad. The term "slate" has been starting to catch on in the CS rags as a general term. I'm not as fond of the term "pad".

.....based on how I did like WebOS. That being said, the name is nearly as bad (or perhaps equally so) as iPad.

Hurricane was a great name... but bad timing. If they really hit a 3Q release it will be smack in the middle of hurricane season, inviting rather unpleasant associations.

Hey, at least it's better than Lenovo's LePad...THAT is an awful name.

Oh dear God, that name sounds like something you'd find on Amazon.com in the related products to those sex in a can things!

In addition to the misleading title as @gmlongo already said, I feel uncomfortable seeing the same text of this article, word for word and link for link, on a (Geekvine) page that's linked from one the links (the "the Streak" link) in the article.

We need to make it clearer what, in news announcements, is the wording of OSnews editors and submitters, and what has been borrowed from elsewhere, in which case, a proper quoting is required. If the submitter wrote the thing elsewhere and brings it to our attention, it also needs to be clear.

There is a lot of ripping, stealing, deceitful quoting on the web these days, we don't need to add to that pile. Just some thoughts.

Hmm... why not just call it a "Palm". They were the original popularizers of the whole hand held computer anyway. Seems a fitting moniker.
