How many developers were involved in the first AmigaOS release and how long did it take to finish it?
The project took about two years from start to release. But, that included a lot of other things, like debugging the hardware along the way, firing contractors who were not getting their work done, switching to new development environments, porting compilers, writing demos, and so much more.
At Amiga, the primary developers were: Dale, RJ, Neil, Kodiak, Jim, Bart, and myself.
Wow, that goes to show how much you can do with a small but talented group of people. The core of BeOS was also done by a handfull of people in a similar timeframe.
