NMC is New Mobile Computing, fair enough... But what does the X stand for?

Nothing. There are no 3-letter URLs left anymore to purchase in a reasonable price.

this means all pda related news will appear on this site only and not on osnews as well ?

plucker/avantgo friendly

If the mobile news are too important (e.g. PalmOS/Symbian/WinCE/etc new OS releases) they will appear on both sites as individual news posts, but this will be very rare. Smaller importance news and/or mobile-centric news will only be posted on NMC (this would be the default). OSNews will hold daily an update on the headlines of NMC though to keep you informed.

It is AvantGo ready, yes. As for Plucker, I don't know. If Plucker uses the AvantGO or other mobile browser ID and not just its own, then it will work too without the ads.
