Why?
by Zachary on Fri 7th Nov 2003 19:02 UTC

Not to be disrespectful, I appreciate OSNews and read it daily (I also paid to be a member). I just wonder why there is NMC news on OSNews? Yes, I saw the post a while back, but it seems like just advertising for a site that isn't doing as well as OSNews. Can we stick to OS-related news please?

NMC is only a few months old, it is a new site. OSNews is here since 1997. As you can understand, it is normal to not do as well yet. But with the proper push of the big sister, it can do it, and we make sure it will.

If you are not interested in a story, skip it. ;)

Oh, another thing is that we have a lot of people asking me for more mobile/PDA news on osnews and I reply to them to go to NMC instead. By featuring NMC's headlines on osnews we do both things: stay focused on OSes, but also have a window to mobile news for those who want it.

Sidekick news!

I need more Sidekick news on NMC, Eugenia. ;) Do you not post on the Danger products due to your husband's employement (I thought he worked there)? They just had a major software upgrade which kicks all forms of tail.

Just curious...

Of course and we post on Danger:

But there were no big announcements on it lately.

JBQ never worked for Danger. You must be thinking of one of the other 8-9 ex-Be engineers who work(ed) there. ;)

They just rolled out a major software revision. The little bugger has SSH now along with several other things. Very useful, and hopefully starting to move out of the realm of 'Cool and Hip' to 'Solid and Useful'.

If I have the time to write up a review this weekend, would you be interested in posting it?

We didn't receive your news submission at NMC though. ;)

Oh, yes, of course! Please make sure our review guidelines first for the format needed for publication: http://www.osnews.com/story.php?news_id=168
