Not saying that it was perfect or anything, just wondering if anything is in the works to replace it.

I figured that "Member Since" was a better indicator, because rather than something totally objective (and as we discussed, biased towards the majority opinion of our readers), a static indicator of "seniority" was probably a better measure of worth.
Do you have any ideas? Maybe a (X/Y) where X is number of comments and Y is average score, but that's a little too bloated and bulky I think.
The thing is, seniority doesn't necessarily equal maturity or insightfulness. It would take some thought, but what you guys should probably do is come up with some sort of formula to score users. As you said in the other thread, an average of 2 on 300 posts means alot more then an average of 2 on 5 posts, and the score should reflect that.
Another thought I had while reading the conversation about Moulineuf is that the same way that someone with a high average score gets an automatic +1, maybe someone with an exceptionally low score should get an automatic -1. They would still show up for most people, but could be modded away easier.
Anyways, keep up the good work Adam
I'm open to that. Let me look into what that would take.

I'm a fan of the moving average proposed by sbergman27 ( here http://www4.osnews.com/permalink?c267 ) Seems like a good system because scores evolve over time, trolls can redeem themselves and vice versa, and it smooths outliers (anomalous scores high or low).
Probably isn't easy to implement though.
"Member since" makes me think of Slashdot and the whole lower id-numbers are better thing.
