Umm, I know that but none of those themes are as good as was the v3. And well, I decided to beautify OSNews a little by just opting to use my own CSS stylesheet rather than their premade themes.
PS. The custom theme is still under work but I can post a screenshot sometime later on
This is still unfinished, but I personally happen to find this a lot easier to read and more pleasurable than any of the default themes
Yes, I know quite a few of you might not like it, but this is how I like OSNews

Fully agreed. With few exceptions, it's hard to define why but it hurts to read and so I'm just skipping through comments now.
One thing that bothers me is that the name of the poster isn't aligned with what (s)he posted, making it hard to scroll through and see who said what.
And less to do with readability and more to do with utility: there are no more links to all the replies received by any given comment. Makes it a lot harder to follow threads (at least in the flat view).

The background gradient is one thing that hurts while reading.
I've switched to V3 theme. But it also has its problems, specially all those empty spaces between the left bars and the content at the center ("Post a new comment", for example, is faaar to the right).
I'm sorry, but v3 was much better. Sticking to Google Reader for now.
