I multi-boot - I used to run only one OS at the time (freebsd or a linux distro), but after I got myself an extra harddrive, my setup is like this:
Slave harddrive:
10GB windows xp
25GB linux
5GB for testing other OSs and distros
Master harddrive:
1GB swap
74GB /home
I've messed up (or removed) my bootloader many times, but it's not really much of an issue; I just reboot into a livecd, mount a few filesystems, chroot and reinstall grub from there.
