I can mildly see where the author is comming from but there is never an instance in an OS where being less intuitive would help it.
It's alot easier to explain and operate something of when your told you think 'that makes sense'. Admittidly couldn't finish the article but he's going about things the wrong way.
Add features, doesn't make thing's harder to use for goodness sakes or by any means 'less intuitive'. A person should like my favorite browser be able to choose what features he want's to use (extensions) and have his own OS behavior. But not a harder less intuitive one.
