Ubuntu, Kubuntu, Xubuntu The next alpha release of Ubuntu Feisty Fawn (Herd 2) is out. The Kubuntu announcement is here. "The Feisty Fawn Herd 2 is the second alpha release of Ubuntu 7.04, and with this new alpha release comes a whole host of excellent new features. especially the claim that system upgrades will be seamless.

I really hope they will rethink their current stance on the konqueror system:/ and media:/ stuff, though. One thing I simply cannot stand is being treated like a fool. Certainly it makes sense that the average user might not *need* some of the features KDE offers, but IMO purposely dumbing down the interface just to suit the lowest common denominator is a very slippery slope to climb.

Still, it cannot be denied that they are doing some very good and valuable work.
