FreeBSD "Linux has a large amount of device drivers for hardware not supported on FreeBSD, especially USB devices. Not rarely, such drivers have been written based on information derived by protocol sniffing, reverse engineering and the like. This makes the code highly undocumented, and renders the porting effort extremely error prone. To help with this task, I decided to start working on an emulation layer that would let us recompile the linux source code on FreeBSD, and provide a sufficiently complete emulation of the kernel APIs so that device drivers (or at least certain classes) could be used without modifications to their source code."

More Distortion of reality by the author of this slander and libel , what a surprise ...

First , I ain't a zealot because I ain't trying to kill you because your idea and mine disagree. I have not killed anyone for anything in my entire life.

Second , I do care about Open Source , I prefer and support and fund GPL and Free Software , because its real Open Source , thats why I support the GPL. I don't support BSD because I personally know for a fact that its not Open Source *all* the time. Its the reason why I call it a traitor license.

That is not a fact most USB code come from GNU/Linux developer working on making it work. That's where the real difference is , FreeBSd as no one doing the same job , due to lack of support from there community , lack of funding , lack of commercial support.

" you've forgotten to mention Linux and it's viral

No , the GPL is not viral , it does not spread on its own. Also there is no BSD code inside the GPL that is not accessible or changed to a license that dont permit BSD to use it. I was not clear enough apparently so now you cant twist reality to your lies.

Its not off-topic , its miss-information by you , corrected by the commenter.

I know you don't get it at all , but its not a magic hype secret how GNU/Linux get things done. You just refuse to face reality and do the same , thats why GNU/Linux is going forward and you lag behind your own derivative.
