Windows Microsoft has just made the Windows Longhorn Server April CTP available for download to tech beta testers. It features several improvements to the core and has implemented a lot of new features to fill in the holes present in the February CTP.

One of the largest/best advances is IIS7, and the fact that almost every single piece of it has been rewritten as a pluggable architecture giving developers the ability to A) extend any part of it they want to and B) add new functionality...without having to resort to ISAPI, it can all be done via managed code now.

IIS6 was fantastic from all standpoints (stability, scalability, security)...if IIS7 continues in those areas + what I mentioned above, it'll be a remarkable piece of software.
