i use this feature in kde since it became more or less stable
at first its a little weird , but then you cant live without it
first , it saves screen space
then it makes app windows more simple ( you know , the gnomies that are always zealoting that kde is too complicated and gnome is so simple ... )
third , you then know where every menu bar is ... you want to access the file menu , you know it is in the top left corner ( for example )
of course , there are other advantages ( like for example if you have a very long menu , because the menu is on the top of the screen , you can the full list ) and not every app needs the menu at all ( i almost dont use it on day to day usage )
