Sure go ahead and add your Macintosh rip off. As long as I don't have to add
if global_menu_bar: my_retarded_hack()
all over my source code. If I do, I won't hesitate to curse the Fitts worshipers.
And how about going menu-less? 99% of applications on my desktop don't need menus. And the 1% that do only do so because the developers are too lazy to make their GUIs context sensitive and interactive. Menus just give developers an excuse to add new features with reckless abandon.
I have an ibook, and the global menubar is the most retarded thing about OSX. That and poor support for mnemonics and keyboard navigation.
