1. Built in DRM, that will restrict copying, and restrict what kinds of formats can be used.
Red herring. The DRM only applies to the included multimedia utilities (Windows Media Player, Media Center, etc). You're not at all prevented from running your own tools that contain no such DRM.
2. Huge resource usage.
Wow, operating systems continue to grow in size and resource allocation. I'm shocked. /sarcasm
3. An always on "monitoring" service, which phones home about what you are doing with your computer
Nonsense. This is pure hyperbole.
