Having just gone through an "install-a-thon", a few reflections...

I find 7.10 to be the most accomplished Ubuntu distro yet. Doing a clean install from the Desktop CD on my desktop system (using an Intel D865-GLC main board and a BFG nVidia GeForce 6600-based display adapter) has resulted in a very pleasing environment. I particularly appreciated the "Restricted Drivers Manager" and the ease with which commercial DVD support is added, without having to resort to Automatix.

On my laptop (Dell Inspiron E1505n), the path was even smoother. I've been running alpha, beta and RC versions right along - now I'm at release version with no more than an "sudo aptitude full-upgrade".

Canonical is to be congratulated on this release.
