Put simply, your copy of Windows will stop working with very little notice (three days) and your PC will go into 'reduced functionality' mode, where you can't do anything but use the web browser for half an hour. Does Microsoft feel they can dictate our hardware configurations? Who the heck paid for the hardware? We did. This sounds like Microsoft telling us what we can & can't do with our personal property.

I remembered an article that Michael Robertson (Linspire, SiPhone, etc.) wrote regarding this subject some time ago. I found it and did a double-take when I saw it was written back in April 2005. It sounded pretty crazy then but decide for yourself by reading the article, "You Own Nothing," at:
