Windows The breakdown for the various editions of Windows Server 2008 was revealed this morning by Microsoft, and the big news there is the almost total lack of change: Retail server software editions for the next Windows Server will fall right in line with the current Windows Server 2003 R2 editions, including the number of client access licenses provided in the basic package.

Hello? ZENworks anyone?

ZENworks makes group policies look like a joke. It allows you to manage Windows, Linux, Netware, Blackberry, Windows CE and Palm workstations/servers/devices from a single console, deploy software, apply policies, etc.

Given the features it offers, the price is actually cheap. Novell Open Enterprise Server 2.0 includes ZENworks (those "Desktop Management", "Linux Management", etc in the product flyer are ZENworks).

By the way, it also supports Active Directory group policies.
