Which is not entirely terrible. Something very similar goes on with last.fm, which gets the tunes I listen to from Amarok.
Except that last.fm has far less information about you than mugshot: Apparantly, mugshot's main functionality is to register all your online accounts at one central place: flickr, picasa, youtube, gmail, last.fm, del.icio.us, your IM address, your facebook or myspace account - normally these are separate. Last.fm only knows, what I listen to. It does not know my favorite web sites (del.icio.us), nor what virtual friends I have a myspace (I don't have any, btw!) and what my favourite youtube videos are. mugshot attempts to gather all that information in a single place.
One could say that mugshot looks like an open source version of big brother.
