I've got quite used to the transparent menu bar, the last time I had to use a Tiger machine, I felt like I'd just been punched in the face by the menu bar, it's so overbearing!
Incompatibility with patterned backgrounds has finally been fixed in 10.5.2
But, I asbsolutely agree with the Dock. There's no defending the insane double shadows, bizzarre perspective concept, odd reflection and everything else. The Dock isn't even properly mentioned in the new Leopard HIG; they can't even post-justify it.
