I don't believe you can see any difference in 2D performance in Linux and Windows if you are using the nvidia drivers with the system you stated.
Why don't you believe it? You don't want to believe it? Have you actually run both on the same system? I mean, they couldn't possibly run differently, given that they're two very different operating systems with vastly different graphical plumbing and a vendor who clearly puts more resources to one over the other (although it's good they're putting resources into Linux).
If you can, sounds like something is wrong on your system or not properly enabled in your xorg configuration.
Xorg configuration is fine. The nvidia drivers are in place and working properly. The module is loaded, and xorg clearly shows in the logs that it's using the correct driver.
