Lots of this information is inaccurate, most blatantly is that he thinks the KERNEL is what might be limiting avidemux, and such, when its infinitely more possible that ubuntulinux just hasnt enabled use of mmx/sse/sse2 asm optimizations, which ffmpeg optionally supports.
and then when he says it can cause stability problems to use the for example k8 optimized kernel, wth is that? it seems he is sadly misinformed.
the worst part is, most people believe 100% what random bozos put on their blogs, as it if was absolute truth.
