Nexenta developers announced the availability of NexentaCore 2.0 Alpha1, a Debian Native OpenSolaris environment and platform, based on an Ubuntu "Hardy Heron" base. NexentaCore 2.0 Alpha1 includes almost 3400 packages ported over during the two week "Hardy Hackathon Fest."

Yep, NexentaOS requires a little more memory than that
Last week it was the 7th most popular download if you believe distrowatch.com. Lots of power and flexibility for servers AND it looks like many developers are now building their solutions on top of Nexenta apparently because of the advanced packaging plus the Solaris kernel. Any Nexenta users want to chime in?
