BSD and Darwin derivatives Dru Lavigne's very useful book turns the arcana of FreeBSD into a comprehensible set of tools.

Given that a large portion of FreeBSD work also involves Linux emulation and to get Linux software running under FreeBSD, does the book address some of that? I cannot find a table of contents link for it on Amazon?

No, but neither do the articles that make up the book.

Running Linux apps on FreeBSD has always been pretty seamless - enable Linux compatability and install the apps (from packages or ports).
