Microsoft has responded to a recent challenge from Sun to answer some serious questions about Hyper-V â" in particular, how Hyper-V can compete with Xen-based alternatives, and whether a Windows-only virtualization technology can hack it in today's increasingly heterogeneous datacenters.

OK, but what about heterogeneous shops that use both Windows and Linux, and maybe even BSD and Solaris? These are the shops being addressed in the question, not shops that are commited to a single platform.
