Finally someone starts experimenting with new ways to do a graphical server, without all the obsolete stuff stuffed into X11.
I don't expect X server to go away, there are lots of useful stuff there. Eventually this new protocol could become part of it (i.e. X server could become support layer for multiple graphical protocols).
