BSD and Darwin derivatives "The FreeBSD project is finally, after much work, pleased to announce the availability of an official FreeBSD web based discussion forum. It is our hope that this forum will serve as a public support channel for FreeBSD users around the world and as a complement to our fine mailing lists."

I'm happy to see freebsd.org has at last its own forum. It should have been implemented right from the beginning. I see they are using reCaptcha as validation scheme, this is nice but not enough. It is just a matter of time before spammers find this nice forum and start bugging us. I hope the admins activate the challenge/response antispam scheme with a question specific to FreeBSD, for instance: "Give one of the names of the FreeBSD mascot?" I doubt a manual spammer would insist. Spam is one of the reasons why bsdforums.org closed doors. It's such a pity. I have sent the admin a few emails offering free help to solve the spam problem, and I have received no reply whatsoever, not even a "No, thanks". I have also offered free help to improve their web site. No response. Anyway, it's been a few months bsdforums.org has been down, let's turn the page and head over to forums.freebsd.org! ;)
