charged with breaking competition laws by the European Commission. The EU stated that Microsoft has broken competition laws because it bundles its Internet Explorer browser with Windows, which gives the browser an unfair advantage over competing browsers such as Firefox and Opera. The fact that after half a decade of being a crappy security risk that wasn't even half as good as the competition IE still holds 70% of the market, clearly shows how much the Windows monopoly helped IE.
