Legal Remember when Steve Jobs launched the iPhone, and held it up in the air, proudly proclaiming "Boy, have we patented it", followed by a massive applause of the adoring audience? It may seem like this wasn't just an empty claim, either. During the earnings conference call yesterday, the company hinted at possible legal action against Palm were the Pre to infringe on iPhone patents.

Palm copying Apple?

Try the other way around. Apple has a lot of nerve considering the similarities between the iPhone interface and the classic PalmOS.

* A grid of application launchers sorted into multiple screens.
* One application used at a time, occupying the whole screen.
* Four programmable "fixed" buttons at the bottom for commonly used apps.
* A "home" button to exit the running app, and return to the list of applications
* Built-in PIM functions accessible by third party apps
* A touch-sensitive screen for input and navigation.

Honestly, who's copying who?
