Along with the release of the Windows 7 release candidate came new system requirements for Microsoft's next operating system. You make it sounds like that's a bad thing? Every version of Ubuntu is billed as the next best thing. Every version of Mac OS X is billed as the greatest thing since sliced bread.
Every vendor does that with their products.
