Today, Apple officially released version 3.0 of its iPhone operating system, a Mac OS X derivative for the iPhone and iPod Touch. It comes packed with a whole boatload of improvements and changes, so it's sure worth it to upgrade your iPhone or Touch.

I really hate sticking up for Apple but perhaps the problem lies with the phone company? If it's an activation error, more than likely the servers are swamped with everyone trying to update and reactivate the phone. Happened when v2.0 came out last year.
