Finally, the Palm Pre has been announced for European markets. The Pre will arrive via Telefonica to some European countries (O2 in the UK/Ireland/Germany, and Movistar in Spain) before the end of the year. This Pre will obviously be GSM/HSDPA variant of Palm's saviour (at least, it hopes so).

The linked article seem to indicate some arbitrary limits on certain features, e.g. "IM, SMS and MMS" only available within areas with wireless coverage.
Which, especially regarding SMS, seems to be quite stupid.
However, it brings up the question on whether it will be capable of being used as a data modem, a.k.a. tethering.
