There was an OS called Helios back in the early 90s built specifically to provide a nix like OS on Transputer arrays, hence massively parallel. When the chip died, the OS was abandoned soon after. I only ever saw it at a VR show in London around 1990.
I also have to wonder why Singularity hasn't continued or the experiment "done".
