Windows Windows 7 has been out and about for little over a week now, and as it turns out, Microsoft's new baby is doing relatively well. That is, according to the figures by NetApplications: Windows 7 already reached the 3% mark this weekend, and is already closing in on the 4% mark.

I beg to differ. Many times I have installed Windows and have been unable to get the correct resolution for the attached monitor until I installed the OEM driver (that did NOT come with Windows).

1. We were specifically talking about Windows 7. Windows 7 ships with all graphics drivers on the disc. On top of that, a lot of drivers are pulled from WU, and those have undergone testing to ensure that they work.

The Ubuntu team might want to take a few clues from that approach instead of just willy-nilly including drivers that fcuk up.

2. I fail to see what this has to do with the issue at hand. We were talking about included broken drivers - not about whether or not you have to download one.

OK. There does seem to be a problem for many people that I haven't encountered, and that wasn't seen in the beta or the RC. Someone must have goofed.

The problem was present in the betas and RC too. Check Google. It affected me there too.
