I love the Windows7 behavior when you drag windows to the right of the screen.
I should have been less specific, and included more than just comparing windows. Having a small window for some other purpose is something I do frequently, also. A calculator is a good example.
Having my windows always be maximized was my old behavior, but using a 1600x1200 screen changed all that. I am also in agreement with an above poster that screen aspect ratios for movies suck when you have work to do.
Also, I personally despise window managers that try to guess what I want to do. It really, really pisses me off.
I really wish two things for Windows window management: an always-on-top/always-on-bottom button, and multiple workspaces. Windows 95 had it, but all later versions didn't, and third party solutions were always broken. Even the really cool Windows XP powertoy was slightly broken, but it was really nice. Being able to preview smaller versions of all four desks at once is something Aero should really shine at.
